What if there were a Community Patriot Day in Georgetown Township, taking place on some Saturday in late June or early July, at and around the Veteran’s Plaza? What if on that day for that event Main Street were closed off for through traffic? What if local area school bands (public and private) were asked to play traditional American patriotic and military songs? What if military veterans were especially honored at the event? What if residents were encouraged to decorate their bikes in American patriotic and military themes, and awards presented to the best decorated bike by age group? What if Dr. Dale Mohr were the first honorary chairman of the event, since during his administration as Township Supervisor the Veteran’s Plaza was constructed?
Hopefully this idea can become a reality.
